Richard Arthur Massey passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home in Lees Summit, Mo on January 29, 2017.  Richard was born September 15, 1950 in Puxico, MO and went to Puxico High School.   He was a jack of all trades and a master of masonry, concrete and carpentry.  He loved poking around at home building whatever his imagination wanted.  He had a funny sense of humor and loved being with his family, friends and faithful canine companions Jellybean and Hawk.  He was a wonderful & loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, brother in-law and friend to many and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

 

He is survived by his daughter & son in-law Noah & Amy Smith of Lees Summit, MO and step-daughter  & her husband Travis & Jennifer Bartimus of Springfield, MO, his grandchildren Sergeant Braydon Dillard, USMC,  stationed in Okinawa, Japan, Richard A. Massey-Scott of Springfield, MO, Samantha Tindle of Springfield, MO and Sadie & Noah Letterman of Mountain. Home, AR. 

 

He was preceded in death by his son Kevin Letterman, father & mother William & Dorothy Massey and his brothers Ed & Joe Massey.  He was loved by his sisters Lila Bryant of Cape Girardeau, MO,  Mildred Looney  and Velva Buehler both of Advance, MO and his brothers Ron Massey of Bloomfield, MO, Jim Massey of Extrel, CA and Roger Massey of St. Louis, MO.
