Frances Susan Macdonald Baxter passed away Wednesday evening February 8, 2017 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Overland Park, Kansas. Frances Susan Macdonald was born in Tampa, Florida on December 22, 1924 to Frances Way and John James Macdonald. She was raised in Sebring, Florida and graduated from high school there in 1942. She graduated from Stetson University in Deland, Florida where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority and a local honorary music society. She married W.W. (Bill) Baxter in 1944. They moved to Salina, Kansas in 1952. She was a Realtor, and partner with the Wenger Agency, which became Coldwell Banker, Antrim, Piper, Wenger. She was a past president of the Salina Board of Realtors, a member of P.E.O. chapter ED., and a member of Christ Episcopal Cathedral. Her husband of 56 years died in 2000. Her parents, her step father, I.P. Reese of Lancaster, PA., son-in-law Dr. Bob McCune of Indianapolis, IN. preceded her in death. She is survived by a son, Dr. W. Reese Baxter, and wife, Donna, of Brookville, KS., three daughters, Frances L. Baxter of Topeka, KS., Priscilla B. McCune of Indianapolis, IN. and Debra B. Ryder and husband Michael of Leawood, KS. She is also survived by six grand children, Erin Kary and husband Ken of Manhattan, KS., Laura Padgett and husband Sean of Manhattan, KS., D. Baxter McKay of Topeka, KS., Priscilla Ryder Fitzgerald and husband Michael of Denver, CO., Dr. Reese McKay and wife Emily of San Antonio, TX., Frances Ryder of Arvada, CO., and four great grandsons, Aidan McKay of Topeka, KS., Baxter McKay of San Antonio, TX., Carson Padgett of Manhattan, KS., and Ryder Fitzgerald of Denver, CO., and one great granddaughter, Millie Frances McKay of San Antonio, TX. The memorial service will be at Christ Episcopal Cathedral, Salina, KS., later this summer, the date and time to be determined. Memorials may be made to Christ Episcopal Cathedral or the Salina Animal Shelter.
