Frederick Takeyama died peacefully in Kansas City Hospice on Monday, March 13, 2017, in Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 70. Glenn is survived by his wife, Cynthia, of 37 years, son Brandon (Sylvia), daughter Korinne, daughter Erika (Luke), sister Fusako “May”, sister Dorothy, sister Patricia, sister-in-law Peggy, sister-in-law Fumi, sister-in-law Coralie, granddaughter Heather, grandson Julian (Crystal), granddaughter Hailey, granddaughter Jayde, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Thomas, mother Mary, brother Wallace, and brother Frank. Glenn was born on Christmas Day 1946 in Los Angeles, California to Thomas and Mary Takeyama. He graduated from Dorsey High School in 1965. Upon graduating, Glenn began working in the grocery business and remained there for many years. Following the grocery business, he became self-employed as a graphic designer. In 1989, the family moved to Kansas City, Missouri where he continued work in the graphic design/printing field until 2013. Glenn enjoyed surfing the worldwide web, watching movies, and continuing his close ties to family and friends all over the world. A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at the Church of Good Shepherd (4947 NE Chouteau Dr, Kansas City, MO 64119). Rev. Galen Snodgrass will officiate the ceremony.
