Delores Ann Mai Kosman

Delores Ann Mai Kosman passed away peacefully on March 10, 2017.  Delores was born February 1, 1931 in Ellis, KS to William and Katherine (Keller) Mai.   Delores graduated from Ellis High School in 1948 where she participated in the choir and drama club, was a cheerleader for basketball, and excelled in typing.  Delores played the organ at St Johns Lutheran church in Ellis, KS for many years.  After graduation, she worked at a local hospital for a few years.

 
 
Delores moved to Kansas City, MO in 1950 to attend the St Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing.  She graduated from nursing school in the fall of 1952.  While she was in school, she met her future husband of 61 years, John Kosman.  They were married on August 1, 1952.  Together they had 6 children.  Delores was involved with various activities with her children; girl scouts, boy scouts, little league sports, high school sports and the many car rides in-between.  As mother of a special needs child, Delores became very involved with Special Olympics and was a volunteer until the time of her death.  She had many bird feeders in her yard and enjoyed watching them feed.  She was also a quilter and an avid reader.  
 
 
Delores is survived by her children; Wayne (Linda) Kosman of Lee’s Summit, MO; Walt (Karen) Kosman of Germantown, TN; Barb (Kirk) Peglow of Camdenton, MO; Beverly (Tom) Berberich of Olathe, KS and Dan Kosman of Kansas City, MO; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  Her husband, John, and son John Allen Kosman preceded her in death.
