John Robert White, 81, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away in his sleep on March 19, 2017 surrounded by his family. John is survived by his wife of 55 years, Freddimae, his sons John Robert White and Jeffrey Thomas White, his wife Diannah, and granddaughters Hannah Jane White, Lucy Mae White and Jenna Lea White. He is also survived by his sister Mary Lou Richardson of Green Ridge, Missouri and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

John was a veteran and enjoyed his time in the Army stationed in Germany alongside Elvis Presley. He especially enjoyed the brotherhood of the Northland Elks Lodge where he passed his time playing poker and pool. John enjoyed pool so much he bought a Snooker table instead of a washing machine when his son John Robert was born, much to the chagrin of Freddimae. He loved watching his sons compete in sports, especially Jeffrey, who competed on many levels of baseball including a stint with the Houston Astros.

Services will be held on Wednesday, March 22 at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 9555 N. Oak Trafficway, Kansas City, Missouri with a visitation at 5 p.m. followed a Celebration of Life service at 6 p.m. A party in John’s memory will be held at the Elks Lodge, 7010 N Cherry, Kansas City, Missouri following the service. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Elks Lodge Scholarship and can be handled through Good Shepherd.
