Elizabeth Jane Horsley

Elizabeth (Betty) Jane Horsley, 93, died April 22, 2017 in Overland Park, KS. Born in Illmo (Scott City), MO, she was preceded in death by her husband of six decades, Joseph John Horsley of Cincinnati, OH; also by brothers Clarence M. Taylor Jr. of Sikeston, MO, and Warren E. Taylor of St. Louis; and parents Clarence M. Taylor Sr. and Mabel (Estes) Taylor.

 

Elizabeth was a gifted singer and pianist and studied music at the former Central College in Fayette, MO. Among her passions were her children, her Christian faith, and global missions projects, several of which she and her husband participated in personally, both in the United States and abroad. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Lou Horsley of Houston; sons David Horsley of Amarillo, TX, Warren Horsley of Port Angeles, WA, and Paul Horsley of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren Matthew Horsley of Austin, TX, Rachel Whites of Kerrville, TX, Nathan Horsley of Kansas City, MO, and Sierra Horsley of Bellingham, WA; two great-grandsons; and a niece Jane Ann Dennis. Services are pending. The family requests contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org or 800-272-3900).
