Vance was born in Willmar, MN. He was an only child of a Seventh Day Adventist Pastor. He had a childhood full of discipline and adventure that laid a foundation for his life well lived and a love for Christ. Vance graduated high school from Mount Pisgah Academy, NC. He attended and graduated from Southern Adventist University in TN. After graduation, he worked at Loma Linda Hospital in the Pulmonary and Cardiology lab. Vance married Delane Reed in 1998. Together, they operated a successful practice, allowing him to develop many lasting relationships / friendships, encompassing many generations. Vance was an adventurous man with multiple interests and talents, including music, art, swimming, snow skiing, sailing, golf, Historic Sports Racing (914 Porsche), and miniature train modeling. He enjoyed researching and celebrating his Scottish heritage. There were no boundaries to his imagination or intelligence, which fostered his love of writing poems and stories that made life so interesting to the people around him. Throughout his life, Vance had a passion to encourage others to achieve their goals and dreams. He received great gratification in treating patients and eliminating their pain through Chiropractic care. He was always willing to listen and offer sound advice. Vance served the Lord throughout his life – through the church, through music, and other talents.

With shock and grief I learned of Dr. Reed's passing today. He truly was a healer - not only of body, but a spiritual healer too. His sincere interest in looking at the whole person's wellness came from a very loving heart. We won't see the likes of him again. He was so proud of his family and loved all of them so much. My deepest condolences to all of you. Special prayers for all of you. Rest eternal grant to him, O Lord: And let light perpetual shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Delane, I am so sorry about the loss of your loving Vance. I was so shocked to learn of his passing today. As you and all of us know, he was one of the most amazing and special men this world will ever know. He took care of my ailing body so many times, and his kindness was healing in itself. I am heartbroken that he is gone, and my sympathy goes out to you. Sincerely, Marcia Lesan My daughter Chelsea is so grateful for his healing and is sad today also.
