Cynthia "Cindy" Kueck

Cindy Kueck, 64, of Leawood, KS died peacefully on November

 21, 2017.  She was born in Wichita, KS on December 23, 1952,

the youngest daughter of Herb Kueck and Ruth (Smith) Kueck. 

Cindy grew up in Wichita, KS, where she attended Lutheran

parochial schools, Southeast High and graduated from Kansas

State  University in 1974.  She moved to Kansas City following

 graduation from KSU and enjoyed a long career in banking

and public accounting in the Kansas City area. 


She was a member, officer, and volunteer at Village Presbyterian

 Church in Prairie  Village, KS.  She sang in the choir for many years,

 was a substitute organist, served on the sacristy committee and

most recently volunteered at the Food Pantry. Cindy loved the outdoors,

 golfing, gardening and was a life-long fan of anything KSU and

 the  Kansas City Chiefs and Royals.  She traveled extensively throughout

 Europe and the US, with her many friends and family. 

During the last two years she became a Mahjong fanatic and

 she loved her afternoons with her Mahjong friends.  Recently she also

 began taking bridge lessons.  Cindy had many pets over the years;

 most were rescue dogs whom she loved like family.


She was preceded in death by her parents.  Cynthia is survived

 by her sisters, Susan (Nick) Onofrio, Wichita, Sarah (Roger)

 Jensen, St. Paul, MN, and Sharon (Bill) Stenson, Edwards, CO.

 and her beloved four legged companion, Banjo.  Her nieces

 and nephews include Darcy (Drew) Estes, Matt (Krista) Onofrio,

 Andrew (Andrea) Jensen,  Liz Jensen,  Shane (Sean) DeBourcy,

 Kelly (Simon)Escorcia  and 16 great nieces and nephews.


Deepest gratitude goes to Kathy Doherty and her extended

 family for being Cindy’s Kansas City family and for Kathy’s

 unwavering care and support during Cindy’s two year battle

cancer.  Cindy faced that challenge like she faced life In general,

 with grit, strength, faith and quiet grace.


A memorial service will be held at Village Presbyterian  Church,

 6641 Mission Road, Prairie Village, Kansas,  Monday,

December 4, 2017, 11 am.   A reception will follow the
