Tyler "Ty" John Moffat, age 23, Lenexa, KS passed away November 28, 2017.
Visitation will be on Saturday, December 9 at 1:00 PM, with memorial service to follow at 2:00 PM at Country Club Christian Church, 6101 Ward Parkway, Kansas City, MO 64113.
Ty was born on July 14, 1994 in Sioux City Iowa. He graduated from Olathe Northwest High School in May of 2013. He continued his education at Fort Scott Community College and Johnson County Community College. Ty was pursuing a career in teaching and coaching. He also loved his job as a marketing representative for Insomnia Cookies.
Ty was intensely passionate about the Dallas Cowboys, AC/DC, fishing and spending time with his many friends and family. His enthusiasm with the things he loved was intoxicating. Everyone around him was pulled towards his energy. He was always smiling and laughing about something and wanted those of us around him to do the same. Ty had friends from all walks of life. Known as just “Moffat” to most, his friendship was strong and enduring. He considered his friends as brothers and would go to any length to help them, as they would for him.
Ty is survived by his parents (Kelly and Melanie Moffat), brothers (Garrett and Marshall), Grandparents (John and Dawn Gilles and Bob and Kay Moffat), great-grandfather DuWayne Pauling and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
We think that his youngest brother, Marshall, says it best; “We will miss Ty in this life, until we see him in our next life in heaven”.

I had Tyler in two classes and he was a joy to teach. Always with a smile and helped others. I am so incredibly sad at his passing. Please know he had an impact and all who had the honor to know him. I will continue to pray for him and your family. God bless.
I am friends with Allison and Mike. I was heart broken when I heard about TY. Although I do not know him,I cannot know your hurt. I have a son who called in distress and we were able to save his life.
I will pray the Lord will comfort you and your family in this terrible time.
