John Daniel Sellars III July 22nd, 1950 - November 30th, 2017 John was born and raised in Edgerton Missouri until he married the love of his life on March 31st, 1973. John and Charlene were married for 44 years, they raised their family in Kansas City Missouri. John is survived by his wife Charlene Sellars, daughter Heather Putnam (Jason) of Kansas City Missouri, son David Sellars (Cathy) of Clinton Missouri, five grandkids: Devin, Zack, Regan, Joey, and Ava. He is also survived by his sister Ellen Stalder (Ed) of Omaha Nebraska, brother Duane Sellars (Deanna) of Platte City Missouri, and numerous friends he considered family. John is preceded in death by his father John Daniel Sellars Jr. John worked for the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority for 42 years until he retired. After retiring from the KCATA, John was a part-time delivery driver to fund his hobbies. John loved to ride his Harley Davidson, mow his yard, sunbathe by the pool, and collect guns. To his family and close friends, he was known as Danny or J.D. He left a profound impact on everyone he met. He will be greatly missed and never replaced. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Northcare Hospice in his memory.

Charlene and family, Sorry to hear about Danny's accident and death. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. We will never forget the great neighbors you and Danny were on North Virginia. We also have many fond memories of your wonderful daughter Heather and her friendship with our daughter Cheryl.

We were friends and classmates all through school. We also commuted together to Missouri Western our first semester. I also was very fond of his parents. I have many fond memories. I learned from Deanna that he was not doing well. Love her! Accept my condolences. Cathy Boyd
