Lee Svet

Lee Svet was born in Ann Arbor, MI to Donald Knapp and Marion (Pearson) Knapp. She grew up in Birmingham, MI and graduated from Kingswood School at Cranbrook. She was married to David Svet for 34 years. Lee and David had one child, Clark Svet. In addition, Lee is survived by her brother, Clark, sister, Kelly, four nieces, and one nephew. Lee studied Architecture at the University of Cincinnati, where she met David and was a member of Kappa Delta sorority. She graduated from the University of Kansas. Lee spent her career doing what she loved, designing retail stores for Hallmark Cards, Helzberg Diamonds, The Hershey Company, and many others. In pursuing her career, Lee traveled the world creating retail environments in places such as New York, Shanghai, Dubai, and Milan. She was a voracious reader completing 3-5 books per week and was active in three book clubs. Lee loved to cook and lived to bake. It is believed she made the world’s finest cheesecake. Lee was active in PEO, Women In Design, and on the Editorial Advisory Board of Visual Merchandising & Store Design Magazine. Lee was also a devoted, loving wife and mother.
