Mildred (Swim) Lowery, 81, of Overland Park, KS, passed away peacefully at home on March 5, 2018.
Mildred was born September 11, 1936 in Kansas City, KS to Delbert and Ollie Swim and was a 1954 graduate of Wyandotte High School, where she was later involved with the reunion committee. She worked at a bank in Riverside, CA, then at Security National Bank in KC for many years before becoming a bookkeeper – first with an accounting firm, then for Keith Coldsnow, LTD. She finished the last 10 years of her career at the Johnson County Area on Aging. She also went to JCCC while she worked and achieved her associate’s degree, which she was very proud of. Mildred was an active member of Countryside Christian Church and Disciples Women. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Lee Lowery, daughter Kathy Lowery (Michael Werner), sister Betty Salts (Ron), 2 nephews – Alan Salts (Lorie) and Darin Salts (Peggy), 2 great nephews (Sam Salts & Nate Salts), and 3 great nieces (Paige Salts, Gracie Salts, and Abi Salts).
Services will be Saturday, March 10 at Countryside Christian Church, 6101 Nall Avenue, Mission, KS 66202. Visitation will be 10:00 am, with the memorial service following at 11:00 am.
