Lawrence E. Scott, III passed away March 18, 2018 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. The memorial service will be held at Christ Anglican Church, 5500 W 91st St., April 12 at 2 o’clock.

 

Larry was born October 7, 1946 in Birmingham, Alabama, and spent his formative years in Knoxville, TN. He graduated from East Tennessee State with a dual degree in art and business.

 

Larry was an accomplished artist and wood carver. Among his friends, Larry was the “captain”, known for singing an eclectic mix of songs from Jimmy Buffett to Bluegrass.  He operated his own business Windsong for many years.  

 

He married his wife, Pam, in November 1980 in Overland Park, KS. Their son, Rob, was born in 1983. 

 

Larry is survived by his wife Pam, son Rob, sister Peggy Bondon (Jack). His sister-in-law, Patti Rickey, two nieces, two nephews, four great nephews and one great niece. His radiant smile and beautiful blue eyes will be missed by all that were touched by his presence.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Great Plains SPCA.

Pam, So very sorry to learn of Larry's passing. As you well know, he was a dear friend and I have many, many wonderful memories of our youth here in Tennessee. Even after all these years, I still think of him often and without fail, I always smile and silently say, "That L.E., he was one of a kind."
