Sheryl Sue Mitchell (nee Williams), 64, of Gladstone, Mo., passed away due to complications related to Multiple Myeloma on May 5, 2018 at NorthCare Hospice House -- surrounded by her loving children. Per her wishes, there will be no funeral. Instead, her extended family will gather this summer for a reunion in her honor.  Graduating from NKC High School in 1972, she came of age during the flower power movement with long flowing hair and a fondness for beaded jewelry and gemstones. She discovered a passion for geology and jewelry making while earning her associates degree at Maple Woods Community College. Suzie was known for her delicious cakes and even had her own wedding cake business before becoming a clerk for the USPS, where she worked for more than 30 years. Some of her best memories were taking her kids, Deana, Danny, and Doug, on road trips across North America.  She had a fierce spirit- stubborn, passionate, and funny. Her love of tropical décor, especially flamingos, was displayed during her annual “pink flamingo party." Suzie’s granddaughter, Kiran, 2, was the apple of her eye. Her love of family and independent spirit will inspire her surviving family for generations to come.
