Raymond "Ray" C. Ebeling
Mar 15, 1926 - Jul 05, 2018

Raymond Ebeling passed away peacefully July 5, 2018.  He was preceded in death by his wife Imogene and their son John, and is survived by their son Glen (Annie) and grandsons Erik (Alicia, great grandchildren Lana and Luke) and Brett, as well as extended family.

Ray was born March 15, 1926 in Canadian County, Oklahoma, and attended Union City High School.  He grew up on the family farm, with all of the attendant chores, then served in the Merchant Marine during World War II.  He worked for Red Star Yeast, CIT and retired from State Farm Insurance, where he made many lasting friendships.

Ray and Imogene were married in Oklahoma City in 1948, and moved to Olathe, KS in 1999 to be near Glen, Annie and their grandsons.

Ray was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shrine, and made numerous trips taking burn patients to Shriner's hospitals in Shreveport, St. Louis and Galveston for treatment.  He and Imogene gave time to Meals on Wheels in both Oklahoma City and Olathe.  He was very proud of his service in the Merchant Marine, and was active in the campaign for full veteran status for Merchant Mariners.

There will be a private cremation service.  Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children at either 2001 S. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63131-3597 or 3100 Sanford Ave., Shreveport, LA 71103.
