Christine Elizabeth Plog passed away September 7, 2018 at Garden Terrace of Overland Park. A memorial service will be held at Village Presbyterian Church Chapel on Wednesday, Oct. 3, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Rodger Nishioka officiating. Christine's ashes will be interred in the Memorial Garden at the church. A reception for family and friends will follow the service.

Christine was born Aug. 26, 1939, the second daughter of Kenneth and Christine Cox Plog at Wesley Hospital in Wichita, Ks. Her childhood was spent in Wichita, St. Louis, and Kansas City following her father's career as an engineer with AT&T. In Kansas City, their family home was in the Brookside area. Christine graduated from Southwest High School in 1957 where she was active in two social sororities. In 1959 she graduated with an associate's degree from Junior College of Kansas City having been on the Dean's Honor Roll every semester. She then earned a Bachelor's degree in History and Government from the University of Kansas City in 1961, and in 1965 earned a second associate's degree in Fine Arts from Metropolitan Jr. College.

She was an avid reader, a skillful bridge player, a world traveler, a dedicated swimmer, and enthusiastic music lover. Christine faced many challenges but kept her keen sense of humor and when others took the time to get to know her, became fast friends. In October 1983 she joined Village Presbyterian Church where she was involved in many activities, and enjoyed warm friendships.

Christine is preceded in death by her parents.  She is survived by her  older sister, Eugenia Peters of Afton, NY and two nephews, Ken Peters of Germantown, MD, and John Peters of Rush, NY.  She will be remembered as a devoted friend and a true blue Royals fan (with a special affection for Salvador Perez).
