Ernest W. Lobb

Ernest W. Lobb, 82, passed away unexpectedly on October 15, 2018 in Overland Park, KS. He was born in Chilliwack, BC, Canada to E. Laurie Lobb and Minnie Bridge. He attended Aurora University in Illinois where he met his wife Evelyn Downing. They completed their BA degrees and moved to Florida where Ernie received his Mechanical Engineering degree from the Univerity of Florida.  Returning to Illinois to raise his family, Ernie was well known in the conveyor industry and later retired from Dearborn Midwest in Kansas City. He faithfully served his church and community. People were drawn to Ernie--his warm personality, humble leadership, and strong example were respected and admired by all. Gardening, woodworking, home projects, travelling, music, and spending time with family and friends were his passions. He is survived by wife Evelyn (married 61 wonderful years); children Erin (Greg) DuChanois, Amy Lobb-James, and Howard (Lucy); grandchildren Colette and Curtis DuChanois, Dalton (Danielle), Dylan and Carson James, Owen and Evan Lobb; sister Judy (Terry) Plummer; brother Douglas (Chris) Lobb; sister-in-law Ann Downing; and many nieces and nephews.  A memorial service will be held at Village Presbyterian Church, 6641 Mission Rd., Prairie Village, Kansas on Monday, October 22 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Cooperative for Education which the family supports (, Presbyterian Disaster Relief (, or charity of your choice.

My sincere condolences to the family of Ernest Lobb. He was a good man, part of my church family, and husband of a dear woman, Evelyn Lobb. I hope the loving memories he has bequeathed to his family will help to ease the sorrow of his passing.
