Eugenia (Jeanie) Ann Eberting
Nov 10,1943---Oct 16,2018

Eugenia (Jeanie) Ann Eberting, 74, of Lee’s Summit, passed away on October 16, her family at her side.

She was born November 10, 1943 in Clinton, Mo. to Robert and Irene Henry, the first of three girls.  She met her husband of 54 years, Richard Eberting, also of Clinton, in the 6th grade. They had two children, Cindy and Scott, who they raised in Kansas City and Denver.  She spent more than 24 years teaching, with 16 of those at Oak Hill Elementary in Overland Park.  In retirement, she grew in her passion for volunteer service, which included tutoring at nearby schools, United Methodist Women missions and Powell Gardens, among others.  She carried out her good deeds quietly.  Her early morning walks and penchant for a great read kept her heart and mind strong. Her trips with Richard and her grandkids were a highlight.

She is survived by her husband and daughter, Cindy Hall (Daniel), three grandchildren, Elly, Kate and Keaton Hall, and her two sisters Judy Manuel (Bob) and Wanda Thurnau (Gary).

She is preceded in death by her son, Scott Eberting, and her parents (Robert and Irene).

We will celebrate her life on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, with a 12 p.m. visitation and 1 p.m. service at The Summit Church, 114 SE Douglas Street, Lee’s Summit, Mo., 64063. Memorial donations in Jeanie’s name can be made to The Summit Church.
