Barbara R. Poyser, 93, Prairie Village, KS, passed away October 26th, 2018, at Claridge Court of Prairie Village. She was born October 20th, 1925 in Riverton, WY and the daughter of Edna and Herbert Jensen. Barbara graduated from Greeley High School, attended Greeley College, and graduated from The University of Denver where she was a Delta Gamma. Her passion for singing brought her to Kansas City, MO where she sang in the choir and met her husband Bill at the Westport Presbyterian Church. Barbara later became a member of Village Presbyterian Church and was active in several church circles. She was a regular volunteer at the church food pantry. Barbara was also a longtime member of the Sister Hood of PEO. She was a member of Indian Hills Country Club and enjoyed golf and the friendships made on the course, and in the bridge room. Barbara is survived by her daughter Linda and her husband Mike Maler of Austin, TX, and son Doug, with one granddaughter Hannah Poyser of Prairie Village. Barbara is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Bill Poyser. A Memorial Service for Barbara will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, November 1st at Village Presbyterian Church on 6641 Mission Rd, Prairie Village, KS 66208, with a reception following at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to The National Parkinson's Foundation Heartland, or Village Church Foundation or their Food Pantry.
