Margaret Ann Shortell, my wife, and best friend of 57 years, passed away Friday, Nov. 16, 2018.

She was born Sept. 5, 1942, in a log cabin on East Main Street, Richmond, to Pat and Dorothy Wall, who are deceased.

She graduated from Richmond High School and attended one year at Christian College, Columbia, Missouri.

She worked at various places including The Richmond News, Ray County Herald and doctors Cook, Devault and Riley.

We moved to Blue Springs in 1985 where she worked for Hausheer Braby OB/GYN Group. Retiring in 1997, we moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas, where she was the Christian Church secretary for the five years we lived there.

In 2002, we moved to Florida. After coming down with Parkinson’s Disease, we moved back to Richmond to be near our daughter, Cherie and her husband, Darrin Daniel, who graciously gave their time and devotion to helping us cope.

Survivors are: husband, Charles D. Shortell, of the home; daughter, Cherie and her husband, Darrin Daniel; sister, Linda Richie; and grandchildren, Lauren and Bradley.

She was a wonderful wife and a blessing to so many.

Services will be private with inurnment at a later date.
