Elizabeth “Betsy” Meese Allen, 94, passed away 18 November 2018 at St. Joseph Place, Overland Park KS. Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date. Betsy was born in Beaver, OK to Joe and Eva Meese, and moved to Southern California in the early 1930's. She graduated from Downey High School in 1941 and studied at UCLA and Santa Barbara City College. She worked for American Airlines in Los Angeles where she met her future husband, Bob Allen, in Manhattan Beach.  They married in 1960 and enjoyed over 20 years together. After having two children, they lived in England for four years. There she discovered a love for antiques, eventually owning her own antique store in Westlake Village, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Allen, brother Joe Meese, and sister Mary-Lou Hawkley. Survivors include her son Brian Allen (Leah), daughter Nancy Allen Longo, granddaughters Josephine, Roxy and Simone, and many nieces and nephews in the Meese, Mitchell, and Hawkley families.
