Betty Jean (Shelton) Hill was born on February 14, 1935 in Kansas City, Missouri to the Union of Rosie Shelton and her Step Father Henry MacDow. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Cecil L. Hill, Sr. and a daughter Brenda L. (Hill) Lee.
March 2010 marked Betty Hill's five years as a Senior Companion. Originally from Kansas City, Betty brought a great deal of experience in business to her work as a Senior Companion. The mother of 4 girls and 1 boy. Through the years Betty worked on the line at General Motors at Allis Chalmers on combine parts and at Excel Drugs as a chef. However, she spent most of her pre-Senior Companion work life for 35 years as owner of her own general contracting business. As a highly skilled remodeler Betty worked in a field that made success for a woman very difficult. She overcame that and not only accomplished many remodeling jobs, but found time to teach young people who had been in trouble with the law the field of construction. As a youthful 73 year old Betty has shared her skills and her positive attitude with 6 individual clients and with clients at SAVE HOME since she became a Senior Companion.
With her family singing and praying and loving on her at her bedside Betty departed this life on Christmas Eve Monday, December 24, 2018 at Villa St. Frances Catholic Care Center.
Betty Jean Hill a loved and honored Mother leaves to cherish her memory her devoted life partner Jane Nash and her children Harriet Shelton-Rice, Cecil L. Hill, Jr., Purnie Mae (Hill) Lester, Olivia LaVern Hill, 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
