Odelia “Dee” Noreen Mayfield, 82, of Prairie Village, Kansas died Sunday, August 4, 2019. Dee was born July 4, 1937, near Lockwood, Missouri. As a young adult, she moved to Kansas City and worked for GMAC. In 1970, she married Charles Mayfield and they raised their son, Donald, in Prairie Village, Kansas. She loved to write stories and poems and was an avid reader, especially of mysteries. Dee was a loyal fan of the Jayhawks, the Chiefs, and the Royals. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her sisters and friends and doting on her grandsons. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her sisters: Joyce, Marjorie, Shirley, and Rosemary, and her brother, Stanley. She is survived by her son, Don Mayfield, and his wife, Heather, of Overland Park, KS and her grandsons, Benjamin and Henry.
