Goldie Jean Riddle (Whittaker), 63, was born December 23, 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri to Leonard T. Whittaker and Betty Rose Green. She passed away September 26, 2019 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center with her two sons by her side. She was preceded in death by her father Leonard T. Whittaker and mother Betty Rose Green as well as her sisters Roberts Ellen Star, Della Mae Luster, Betty Ann Does, Emma Lee White, and Arlene Louise Byrd.
Goldie attended Pittsburg State University where she studied physical education. She went on to work for the Olathe Public School District for several years in many roles including as an educator, teacher’s aid, paraeducator, bus driver, and more. Goldie was an early riser who loved children, the arts, and old TV westerns like The Lone Ranger and The Big Valley.
She rejoins her husband of 39 years Cecil E. Riddle who passed away July 2, 2018 and leaves to mourn her passing: sons Cecil E. Riddle, Jr. of Olathe, KS; and Godfrey J. Riddle of Kansas City, MO; her brothers Leonard T. Whittaker, Jr. and Louis Byrd and sister Shirley Faye Huddleston of Kansas City, MO; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and many friends, students, and colleagues.
Visitation will be 10:00 am, funeral at 11:00 am with luncheon following, October 7 at Impact KC Fellowship Church, 12011 W. 127th Street, Overland Park, KS 66213.
