Shane (Michael) Garland, 43, of Lake Lotawana MO, passed away on December 3, 2019.    

 

Shane was born in Kansas City MO on October 7, 1976 to Mike and Melody Garland.  He is survived by his Wife, Amy, as well as his Dad, Mike (Jeani) Garland of Lee’s Summit MO, his Mom, Melody Garland of Blue Springs MO, and his two sisters, Stephanie (Jim) Yates of Warrensburg MO and Angela Garland of Lee’s Summit MO.  He is also survived by his Maternal Grandmother, Leota Cossairt, his niece, Kayla Yates and his nephew, Tyler Yates, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

 

With all his heart, Shane loved his wife, Amy, of 23 years and their dog (his “boy”), Ruger.   

 

He loved his friends and family.  He was a true, one of a kind friend who would do absolutely anything, for anyone, at any given time.  No questions asked.   

 

Born and raised at Lake Lotawana, Shane was a genuine Lake Rat.  He loved the Lake and everything about it.  One of Shane’s true passions was riding motorcycles.  He loved taking long or short trips anywhere the wind would take him.  Especially cruising the roads in Arkansas. 

 

A relaxed Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2020 from 2-5 pm at the Lake Lotawana Community Club in Lake Lotawana MO (inside Gate 1). 

 

He will be forever loved and missed and never forgotten.  We love you Shane!!!!

Shane was a powerful force in this world. I can’t think of him without seeing his smile.... which makes me smile. In the last several days I’ve heard the words “big hearted” used to describe him many, many times and it is so true. So many stories of him helping others. I have had the privilege of observing this family’s love and compassion for each other as they struggle to get through this difficult time. Holding up each other. I'm so very sorry to Amy and all the family. We had some super fun times when they lived in P Hill. Shane was a lot of fun to be around and I'm glad I have those memories. I loved all the pics I found. Hugs and prayers to you all.

It's been years. I was shocked to learn of Shane's passing. He was a damn good guy and friend. I can't believe it. Always loyal always ready to help. Most definitely very genuine. He was also quite the joker too haha !. If anyone needs anything don't hesitate to reach out.
