Manuel "Mac" Abarca Cervantes, Age: 82

MANUEL "MAC" ABARCA CERVANTES, 82, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2020. He was born February 6, 1938 in Kansas City, KS.  He was a respected and loved barber/stylist for over 55 years.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents Alberto and Salu Cervantes, his son Ron Abarca Cervantes, sisters Cuca Briones and Angie Hernandez and brother Tito Cervantes. He is survived by sons John(Tracy) and Joseph Cervantes, daughters Toni(Mark) Monheiser, Lisa(Brad) Cloverdyke, Frances(Darren) Feldkamp-Williams, Gina(Doug) Roberts-Williams, Sidonia(Danny) Nolan, Tina Cervantes-Graham(Phil"PhillyBoy") and Jonnie Jo Cervantes, sisters Carmen Briones, Teresa Martinez, Linda Paredes and brother John Cervantes, 23 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends that adored him. 

 

 

A graveside service will be at 12:00 Wednesday July 1, 2020 at Mt. Calvery Cemetery 1150 N 38th St, Kansas City, KS. A Celebration of Life immediately following at Macken Park in North Kansas City, MO.

It has been many, many years since I have seen "Mac" I have very fond memories of visiting him at the barber shop in downtown KCMO. I also remember going to his brother Tito's house with his family and waiting for the menudo to cook and going to the bakery in the morning for cookies. My thoughts and prayers to his family. Thank You for the memories.
