Gaylen Jean Baldwin

Gaylen Jean Baldwin, born 1951, of Raytown, MO was called home on Monday, July 27. She was surrounded by family as she peacefully passed away due to complications from a heart attack. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Hill and her father, John A. Hill Jr.

 

Gaylen dedicated more than 30 years of her life to civil service, working for the Social Security Administration. Growing up she was a member of Job’s Daughters and attended Raytown Senior High School, graduating in 1970. Later in life Gaylen became involved in Cub Scouts with her sons. She was also an avid baker, and enjoyed making and sharing cookies during the holidays. Gaylen enjoyed crafts as she got older, trying hand at stained glass and beadwork.

 

She is survived by her two sons Jakobb and Joshua (Patricia), brother John A. Hill III (Susan), sister Diane DeLong (Jim), two grandchildren Madison and Gavyn, and several nieces and nephews.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Gaylen’s name to the National Kidney Foundation or ASPCA.
