Anna "Annie" Theresa Schranz, Age: 64
Apr 19, 1956 - Oct 04, 2020

Anna lost her battle with cancer, Sunday, October 4, 2020. She passed peacefully at her brother’s home in Lawson, Missouri. Anna was surrounded by her son, granddaughter, sisters, brother, and family. Anna was born April 19, 1956 in Kansas City, Missouri to Walter A. and Bernice E. Schranz. Anna was proceeded in death by her grandparents, parents, and beloved niece, Dana Dolt. Anna is survived by her son, Andrew James Schranz (Krystal Ray), granddaughter, Anna Theresa Schranz all from Boca Raton, Florida. Sisters, Mary Dolt and Karlena (Mitzie) Echo of Raytown, Missouri and brother, James Schranz and wife Wanda of Lawson, Missouri. Foster sister, Vickie Callahan of Americus, Kansas.

Anna lost her parents as a child which resulted in her spending her early years in the care of the foster system. Anna grew up to be a successful, loving, caring sister, aunt, mother, wife and friend. Many chuckles have been had by family and Anna describing herself as a gypsy. Anna had a passion for moving about and being a mother-like figure to many of her family, friends and friends-children. She always had a smile and drive for inclusivity. Anna’s world changed when her son Andrew James Schranz was born on February 24, 1983. Andrew describes his mom with one word - “unconditional”. Her unconditional love was carried through to the day she drew her last breath. Anna had a sense of humor, fun, spontaneous concert-going and had a past time of listening and singing music. Artist like Janis Joplin, Bob Marley, BB King, Beatles, and Elvis Presley set her soul free. As Anna’s life changed with her son, she, as a single mom, worked several jobs to support herself and Andrew. Anna was known for working hard and doing her best, spending over ten years of her employment career working for the City of Kansas City, Missouri, where she received the Outstanding Award for being the inaugural female employee to perform manual labor. Anna’s true work of passion was her love of flowers and being a florist. Anna was nothing less than a perfectionist who shared this amazing talent and creativity. Anna was also known for sharing these talents not only with her employer but with many family and friends. Prior to 2003, Anna spent many years in the Kansas City area but then packed up Andrew and moved to Pompano Beach, Florida. This aspiration of living at the beach was a life-long dream. Her love for the ocean and sand between her toes was a perfect day. She continued her passion as a florist which lead to her meeting the “Love of her life” Angel Adriazola. They were married on the beach on Christmas day in 2005. Many happy years were spent in Florida before returning back to Kansas City, Missouri. Anna was a woman of faith. It was important that she instill her faith to her son Andrew. One of Anna’s favorite memories was sharing stories of Andrew as an altar boy. Outside of having her son and moving to Florida, she describes her next greatest life moment was the birth of her granddaughter and namesake, Anna Theresa Schranz, born on February 21, 2019. She then returned to Florida as much as possible to spend time with her grand baby (little Anna). The family would like to thank all those who have provided support and prayer to Anna and family during this journey. A special thank you to those who participated in Anna’s care from Crossroads Hospice. A memorial drive by to honor Anna’s life is planned for Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 2:00PM at her brother’s home, 28420 MM County Road, Lawson, MO., 64062. Due to Covid-19, the family has requested those who attend the memorial to please remain in your vehicles as you drive around the circle in her honor.

I meet Anna at Kamps Flowers, she was like a whirlwind, outgoing and strong. She would definitely tell you like it was, no holding back. On Memorial Day one year She took me to her parents grave and showed me their home. Oh the memories .When my son Ryan was born she told me it was no big deal and always treated him just like any other kid. We spent a lot of years raising our boys and taking them to many places, the zoo and Worlds of fun just to name a few. I hadn't seen her for many years but she came to my Mom's Memorial. Wow was I impressed with that. She told me about 10 times I'm a Grandma. I could tell how Happy she was. Andy your Mom loved you with all her heart. You were just what she needed in her life. Anna fly with the Angels now and forever.

Ann is a person who new no strangers. Ann would take kids in good or bad and tried to show them how to survive. Ann was artist inside & outside. She loved her Andrew. Andrew is one of the finest men I’ve met. Ann did a great job raising her Andrew A beautiful soul, full of love and faith, ascended to heaven, away from us, but closer to God, leaving loneliness and sadness.
