SHEILA RAE YARGER WEAVER
Sheila Rae (Yarger) Weaver passed away in the morning hours of Sunday, July 4, 2021
Psalm 116:15 tells us, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.”
Sheila was born on November 10, 1943 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Robert H. Yarger and Ruth Grace Nichols Yarger. Sheila grew up in a Christian home, and she said she can never remember a time when she did not believe in and love Jesus. She publicly professed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior when she was eight years old and received Christian baptism in water.
Sheila married her high school sweetheart, Tommy Ray Weaver, on December 21, 1960. Two sons, Tommy Ray Weaver, Jr. and Robert Nelson Weaver were born of this union. Tommy Jr. made the family unit complete when he married Rhonda Bashaw and to them was born Carey Rae. Sheila often spoke of her love for each member of the family and she considered her marriage and her family as God’s richest earthly blessing.
Sheila has experienced chronic pain and weakness for many years, but she kept a pleasant attitude and lived with her heart filled with the joy of the Lord. She was a member of Christian Assembly Church of Weston. Sheila had faithfully attended church all her life, but for the last several years poor health has hindered her so she could attend only occasionally. When she was able to attend church she loved to play the piano and occasionally sing a special song.
Sheila is survived by her husband of 60 plus years, Tommy Weaver, Sr., two sons – Tommy Jr. and Bobby, - her daughter-in-law, Rhonda, - and her granddaughter, Carey, - her brother Charles Yarger of Edmond, Oklahoma and his two sons, her sister Carolyn Yarger Bruce of Conway, Arkansas and her two daughters – plus grand nieces and nephews. Sheila is preceded in death by her parents – Bob and Ruth Yarger, and a brother David Yarger.
Sheila will be missed by those of us who love her, and although we sorrow at her passing, we take comfort in the sure knowledge that she is free from earthly pain and sorrows in the Presence of the God of all Comfort.
