Darryl Wade Johnson, 81, passed away July 23, 2021 at Benton House of Tiffany Springs, formerly of Easton, KS. He was born Oct. 7, 1939 at Joplin, MO, the son of Frank and Marion Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, sister, daughter and grandson.
He graduated from College High School, Pittsburgh, KS in 1957. Darryl earned multiple College degrees, his last was a Masters of Science from KSU. Darryl was a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts and a long time member of the Lutheran Church of Leavenworth, KS. He was a Major in the United States Army, which included 2 tours in Vietnam receiving several medals including the Bronze Star. Before retirement he worked at Ft. Leavenworth as a a management analyst. Also at Price Chopper. Between his Army and Civil Service, he served his country for 38 years.
Darryl married Doris Johnson, March 11, 1983. She survives of the home. Other survivors include 3 daughters, 4 sons, grandchildren great-grandchildren, nephews an nieces.
Graveside services will 10:00 am Tuesday August 3, 2021 at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church and School, 317 N 7th Street, Leavenworth, KS 66048.

I will always remember sitting up late at night having long talks about his time in vietnam and how much he loved being a pilot. He made me believe in myself and that i could do anything as long as I set goals and worked hard. I will miss him... May he rest in peace.. ❤❤❤❤

Darryl was a very insightful and thoughtful person. He put other people needs for his own. When he smiled at you he made you feel special.
