Mark Shane Ronfeldt was born October, 5 1954 in Woodbury County, IA. He died at the family home in Overland Park, Kansas on August 27, 2021, after 8 years of a brutal battle with cancer.
Mark is survived by his parents Ruth and Lyle Ronfeldt, brother Timothy Allan Ronfeldt, a nephew Patrick Ronfeldt and his wife Heide, and a great nephew Theo.
At Mark’s request there will be no visitation or services. He asks that those who remember him, write a note to the family. It was his wish that any donations be made to public radio or public television (KC PBS, 125 E. 31st St. Kansas City, MO 64108). Mark celebrated life every day and always made a friend. He made this world a better place.

I met Mark in the ICU are RMC. He had a way of making everyone feel a part of the team. There are so many memories that I have of time spent with Mark. I think the thing that will mean the most to me was when he showed up for the visitation/funeral for my father. I knew Mark didn't like those kind of events so when he showed up that helped me more than he would ever know. I will miss him greatly and am sorry I couldn't be there in his final days because of my own health issues.I hope your family finds peace now that Mark is at peace.

Mr. and Mrs. Ronfeldt and Tim,
I was so sorry to read of Mark's passing last week. He always had such funny things to share with me online the past several years.
I remember spending many hot summers just hanging out at the Westbrooke Pool with Mark and Don.
The beginning of October won't be the same without our shared birthday greetings (my 65th birthday is coming up on October 1).
I know he is smiling down on us from his cloud in Heaven where he is healthy and happy.
God bless you all.
