Keith “Alfie” David Pearson
Oct 05, 1940 - Oct 03, 2021

Keith “Alfie” David Pearson, 80, of Overland Park, Kansas, died October 3, 2021, at the Kansas City Hospice Home.

Alfie was born October 5, 1940, in Leek, Stoke on Trent, England, to the Reverend Peter Pearson and Phyllis Trigg Pearson. As a youngster his family moved to Fremington North Devon where
his father was vicar at St Peter's Church.

He attended Barnstaple Boys Grammar School. In 1957 he joined R. A. Lister’s for a 5-year engineering apprenticeship. In 1966 he was transferred to the company’s facility in Bogota, Columbia. For 10-years Alfie travelled throughout Latin America, during which time he learned to speak Spanish fluently, in a true Columbian accent. In 1976 he was transferred to the company’s North American facility in Olathe, Kansas. His career in the US saw him travelling extensively in North America including an 8-year period residing in Huntington Beach California. He returned to Olathe Kansas again in 1988 to run the company’s marketing department, then in 1995 he once again connected with his friends in Latin American as the company’s South and Central America’s sales manager.

His career continued in semi- retirement working for PLC Enterprises in Overland Park, but before that he was part of the management team that established Himoinsa’s, a Spanish company, North American headquarters in Lenexa Kansas.

Having played rugby in England, he enjoyed all sports and was a lifetime supporter of the Miami Dolphins. Alfie was also active in his community, taking on the role of President of the Hampton Court Homeowners Association. His other interests included travel, art, reading and keeping in touch with his network of friends throughout the world. He never forgot a birthday or an anniversary.

He is survived by his sister Rae Pearson and her husband Steve Evavold of Seattle and in England sister-in-law Angela Pearson, niece Clare Pugsley, nephews Richard and James Pearson, and children Kyle, Leo, Harry, and Charlie.

He was preceded in death by his father, Reverend Peter Pearson, mother, Phyllis Trigg Pearson, and younger brother John Pearson, husband of Angela.

Very sad to hear that Alfie has passed on. He was a great character with vast knowledge of the industry and always keen to help. I took over the west coast sales area in the late 80s from him and had a great time touring and meeting customers and learning from him. He knew so many people and had many great stories to tell. RIP Alfie our friend
