Timothy Gilbert Nolte, Age: 66
Mar 12, 1955 - Jan 12, 2022

Timothy Gilbert Nolte, 66, of Kansas City, passed away on January 12, 2022 in his home.  He was born on March 12, 1955, in Lima, Ohio, to Hubert Gilbert Nolte and Marilyn Joanne (Imber) Nolte.

Tim was preceded in death by his father, Hubert, and leaves behind his life partner (in crime) Stephanie McCorkle, son Nick (Sarah) Nolte, daughter Kayla Nolte, stepson Joshua Reid, grandchildren Nicholas, Savannah, Aliyah, Julius, and Kaylie; mother Marilyn Nolte and sisters Amy (Bob) Bebee, Dena (Craig) Richardson, Julie (John) Neff, Jane (Tom) Oren, and Kathy Cera; sisters-in-law Sherry Huntington, Peggy (Patrick) Gann, Becky Lowe, Patricia McCorkle and Shelley McCorkle, as well as a gaggle of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and any and all children to whom he ever shared his light and loved the big kid that was always Tim.

Tim worked for Continental Disc until his retirement in May 2021.  He enjoyed spending time with family, golfing, frisbee golf, and playing the guitar and listening to music.  He had a heart as big as forever and shared his wisdom and wit with everyone who knew him.  He was full of joy, grace, generosity, and acceptance, and planted that seed in those closest to him.

And if you knew Tim, you know that he was a very private and humble man who didn’t like to be the center of attention, and he requested no services.  Instead, he asks that you celebrate his life by joining with family or friends and sharing a meal in his honor.  Tim’s best times were joining with family over backyard cookouts and other tasty meals.  Many a summer evening was spent in the backyard of the home he shared with Stephanie grilling just about anything under the sun (including apples), playing frisbee golf, hackey sack, and just running wild and silly with the kids.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Crossroads Hospice (crhcf.org/donate).  Crossroads staff provided vital care to Tim in his final months and days, and his family is forever grateful to his nurses LeeAnn and Sherry, as well as the rest of the wonderful staff who helped him with his journey over the rainbow.

I am saddened by the news of Tim's passing. I met him when I first started working at CDC 7 years ago. He took me under his wing and showed me the ropes. We had lots of good conversations and good laughs. He was a good friend and I will miss him dearly. Heaven will be richer with his spirit.
