Virgil Earl Skaggs Jr. 78 of Oak Grove Missouri passed away on Monday, June 20, 2022. We said goodbye to a dear man Virgil Skaggs who was loved by many. Virgil loved the Lord and his family. He was a good husband, father and grandfather. 

Virgil was proud that he was able to serve his country in the army as a sergeant. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and being involved in his local church with Royal Rangers, missions and mission trips to Brazil and Africa.

Virgil was born December 10, 1943 in Sedalia Missouri the son of Virgil Earl Skaggs Sr. and Bertha Jane (Jones) Skaggs Sr. Virgil was a welder for Luffland industries in Bates city Mo. for many years.

He was preceded in death by his son Nathan Allen Skaggs and a brother Bob Skaggs and grandson Coty.

His survivors include wife Carol Jeanne (Rickerson) Skaggs, a sister Barbara Cooper and her husband Cecil of Cameron Missouri, a daughter Kathleen Raker and husband Joseph of Odessa Missouri, a stepson Randy Frampton of Oak Grove Missouri, stepdaughter Terrie Brooks and husband Ron Brooks of Odessa Missouri, 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Services for Virgil will be next Thursday, June 30th at 2 PM at the Higginsville Veterans Cemetery. 20109 Business Highway 13 Higginsville Missouri 64037.  There will be a dinner and memorial gathering afterwards at the Odessa community building 601 W Main Odessa (Dyer Park).
