Joyce Nims Caldwell
Apr 06, 1924 - Jun 30, 2022

Sadly, we announce the passing of our mother, Joyce N Caldwell on June 30, 2022. Joyce was born on April 6, 1924 in Boston, Ma to Richard L and Christyne L Nims. She grew up in Needham and later attended Green Mountain College in Vermont.

Joyce was married to Howard E Caldwell, for almost 70 years, who preceded her in death on January 11, 2015. They moved to Ramsey, NJ in 1962 where she would work as an Executive Assistant at the Ford Motor Company, in Mahwah, NJ, for over 15 years.

Joyce is survived by her 4 children, Stephen ( Mary ), Robert ( Joyce ), Christine Clifford and Cynthia Jokisch( Richard ) , 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. To say Mom was the glue that held our family together would be an understatement.

Joyce was an avid Sports fan and was happy to take on anyone in a “friendly” game of Ping Pong, rarely losing. She was always the life of the party and was never afraid to take on new challenges from organizing political events, to family reunions, parties of any kind as well as many other causes she was passionate about. Joyce was always ready for anything and everything, enjoying life to the fullest.

Joyce was most recently a resident at The John Knox Village Care Center in Lees Summit, MO, after having lived as a resident of the Village for 20 years. Joyce served the JKV community for many years, having served on the JKV Board of Directors as well as initiating the introduction of liquor into JKV. Despite all of her accomplishments, her greatest legacy was her family who loved her dearly and will miss her sense of humor and unique outlook on life.

A service will be held on a date To Be Determined. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the John Knox Village Foundation for the Hospice Program, 400 NW Murray Rd, Lees Summit, MO 64081

What a beautiful representation of Gramma Joyce. She always had the best demeanor and was well loved by everyone. Such a positive force! No matter how she was feeling, everything was still "wonderful". You'll be missed Gramma but I'm sure you'll be up there with the angels making them laugh and shedding your beautiful light among us all!

Wishing you all the peace of Christ as you celebrate Joyce's life. She was such a positive inspiration, seeing the silver lining in everything. She was so proud of the beautiful family that God blessed her with. Cherish the beautiful memories. I know she is so happy to be reunited with Howie. Hugs to you all.
