Darlene June Connely, Age: 86

Darlene June Connely 86 years old, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2022 surrounded by family.  

 

She was born June 15th 1936 in Kansas City, MO to Coral Harvey Conley and Violet Emma (Cott) Conley. Darlene attended Central High School where she was a member of the Minerva Literary Society and graduated in 1953. She married Jerry Connely and had 3 children. Darlene, also known as "Punkin" by her family, was one of 10 children. She was a descendent of the Wea Tribe of the Peoria Indian Nation and also one of the Daughter's of the American Revolution.

 Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Rex, Bob and Coral Conley; Sisters, Kathleen Blaine, Maxine Lehman, Geraldine Nichols and Earnestine Crosby and son Darren Connely.  She is survived by two sisters, Colleen Sauntry (Jim)  and Charlene Bredemeier (Wally), her daughter Kelley Hamlin (Eric), son Shawn Connely (Teri Jo), 6 grandchildren, Nicole Waters, Gina Connely, Sara Connely, Devon Hamlin, Patrick Connely and Katherine Sheedy and 8 great grandchildren.

 Darlene will be remembered by her smile, infectious laughter, caring spirit and beautiful red hair.  She never knew a stranger and her quick wit and sense of humor caused people to gravitate to her.

 

Her wonderful life will be celebrated on November 29, 2022 from 1:00 - 3:00 at the American Legion Post #327, 6521 Nieman Road, Shawnee, Kansas 66203
