William "Bill" Walter Martin

December 17, 1965 - January 9, 2023

William “Bill” Walter Martin of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on January 6, 2023.  He was 57 years old.  Bill was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Betty and Ray Martin.  Bill was preceded in death by his parents.

Bill was employed in the banking industry for over thirty years.  His career began with Bank of America, followed by many years with Country Club Bank.  For the past several years, Assured Trust Company had the pleasure and honor of Bill’s many talents.

Bill was a beloved brother and everybody’s favorite uncle.

He has many friends in the Kansas City and Tulsa area.  His work friends were especially dear to him.  He enjoyed family trips to the beach, as long as he did not have to get in the water.  He passed away on what was one of the best days of his life.  He waited two months for his new car to arrive and had just taken delivery. Bill spent the evening sending pictures to family and friends.  He passed away with the car owner’s manual and car keys next to him.

Bill’s human survivors include three sisters and one brother: Georgia (Frank) Finks, Lamoni, IA; Susan Martin Weaver, Tulsa, OK; David (Donna) Martin, Tulsa, OK; and Elizabeth Martin, Tulsa, OK.  Nieces and nephews also survive Bill: Matt (Jamie) Messer, Kansas City, MO; Steven (Jessica) Weaver, Chicago, IL; Joseph Weaver, Tulsa, OK; Daniel Diaz, Tulsa, OK; and Dabney Diaz, Tulsa, OK.

Bill is survived by his beloved three cats – Augustus “Gus,” Annie Rose and Murphy Muldoon. (All of Bill’s cats have been adopted.)

Details of a memorial service in Tulsa will be announced soon.
