Patricia Lynn Jennings February 27, 1950 – October 29, 2024

 

Patricia “Pat” Lynn (Woyski) Jennings, 74, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on October 29th, 2024, at her home. She is survived by her husband, Clay Jennings of 42 years.

 

Pat was born, February 27, 1950, in St. Joseph, Missouri to the late George Woyski and Lorene (Wheeler Woyski) Hogan. Growing up, her family lived and farmed in DeKalb, Missouri. She graduated from DeKalb High School in 1968. While in school she was active in Cheerleading, Varsity Girls Basketball (All Conference 1968) and crowned Football Queen her junior year.

 

On February 16, 1970, Pat started working at Trans World Airlines in Kansas City, Missouri. TWA merged into American Airlines in 2001. She worked much of her 35-yr career in the Accounts Payable Department before retiring in 2005. Working for the airlines had many perks, one of which was standby airline tickets which provided many fun vacations throughout the years. One of Pat’s favorite trips was to Hawaii.

 

Before her illness, Pat loved to spend time with her granddaughters and support their many activities. Being outside and working in her yard gave her great pleasure. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed hosting holiday celebrations and impromptu gatherings at her home. Her door was always open to family and friends.

 

Pat is proceeded in death by her parents; stepfather, Tom Hogan; nephew, Rhett Eckley; niece, Karrie Williams; two brothers-in-law: Gary Kerns and Lawrence Sampson; and daughter-in-law, Kris Jennings.

 

Survivors include: her husband; daughter, Joely (Kevin) Jones; grandchildren; Hannah (John) Erneste, Mackenzie Jones; stepson, Brian (Marilyn Zlatkin) Jennings and his family, Austin (Katie) Jennings, Marissa (Zac) Cook and Jackson Jennings; siblings, Janice Kerns, Rosie Sampson and George (Barbara) Woyski; nieces and nephews, Derek (Kimberly) Eckley, Amy Lieffring, Ryan (Kim) Woyski, Dustin (Kelly) Woyski; 14 great nieces and nephews and their families.

 

Cremains will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, St. Joseph, Missouri

I am so sorry to hear about Pat. I worked with her in Accounts Payable at TWA for over 10 Years. I was Tammie Harlan at the time. I remember she gave me a newspaper article one time that was about having fun in the work place. And that it was a good thing. I think I had gotten in trouble for talking too much. I really enjoyed working with her. My thoughts and prayers are with Joely and the family.

So sorry to hear about Pat's passing. I enjoyed working with Pat in Accts.Payable for many years. She was always talking about Jolie and how proud she was of her and would show pictures of her beautiful daughter. I will miss her. Prayers and thoughts to Clay and all her family.
