Jana Clark

March 19, 1956 - October 29, 2024

Jana Clark, of Lenexa KS, passed away early the morning of October 29, 2024, at the age of 68.

She was born on March 19, 1956, in Kansas City, MO, to the late Myron and Joyce Mantooth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Debbie Giles.

Above all, Jana valued her personal relationship with Jesus Christ, which she passed along to her friends and family. She was an active member of Legacy Christian Church for the last 40 years. As a lover of cats, Jana also volunteered at Great Plains SPCA and adopted many cats over the years. She was an advocate for her conservative values and staunch supporter of the Republican party, volunteering for several candidates over the years, including Bob Dole. Jana was the Kansas City Chief’s biggest fan (even before they were a winning team!) and also enjoyed all other local teams including the Kansas City Royals and Sporting KC. She greatly enjoyed all sorts of crafting, painting, and decorating. Her scrapbooks and homemade cards are true works of art and will live on far beyond her years. Jana also loved spending time boutique shopping with friends and family and watching HGTV and Fox News.

Jana will be greatly missed by her surviving family, which includes two daughters, Jenni Riegel (husband Chad) of Rolla, MO, and Kim Stone (husband Rick) of Burleson, TX; one sister, Lori Savner (husband Charles Vestal) of Parkville, MO, and in-laws Terry and Michelle Giles of Riverside, MO; 5 grandchildren, Kaylee and Max Riegel of Rolla, MO; Caleb and Madison Stone of Burleson, TX; and Nick Stone of Kansas City, MO; three nieces, Wendy Wyrick of Kansas City, KS, Holly Wyrick (Colin Newbold) of Overland Park, KS, and Tiffany Ryun (husband Josh Ryun) of Gardener, KS; great nieces and nephews Jesse Ryun, Natalie Newbold, Keiley Wyrick, Jaiden Adams, Chael Wooten, Benjamin, Julianna, Cody, Dylan, CC, and Gabe; and chosen family/best friend, Melany Duncan.

A memorial service will be held in January at Legacy Christian Church in Overland Park, KS. Details TBD. Memorial contributions can be made to Legacy Christian Church at lcc.org or Great Plains SPCA at greatplainsspca.org. Online condolences may be offered at kccremation.com.

Jana fought tirelessly the last few years. I was so very sorry she had such a battle. I was remiss in seeing her but so enjoyed her conservative and Chiefs posts. She will be greatly missed by friends and family. RIP Jana. I'm sure she was reunited with her many fur babies upon arrival.
