Robert Dean (Bob) Peck, 77, of Platte City, Missouri passed away Monday, May 26, 2025. He was born February 25, 1948 in Kansas City, Kansas, to Mary Evelyn Cunningham Peck and Dean Edwin Peck. He graduated from Wyandotte High School and Pittsburg State University. He then pursued a career in real estate appraisal, retiring as Appraiser Supervisor with the State Tax Commission of Missouri.
In 1974 he married his wife of 51 years, Maryruth.
Bob was a serious stamp collector and loved fishing and bluegrass music. One year he wore a tux and top hat to sell records for the performers at the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas. His cats were his constant companions but declined to partake in the bounty of his fishing.
Bob also loved volunteering at The Farmer’s House, a program supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
He is survived by his wife Maryruth Peck, his sister Judi Buchta and nephews Aric and David Buchta.
A memorial gathering will be held 5:30 PM, July 12, 2025 at The Farmer’s House, 23200 Highway 273 North, Weston, Missouri, 64098. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to The Farmer’s House. That would please Bob the most.
