Emily Elizabeth Newcomb, age 34, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 28, 2019. She was born November 4, 1984, in Overland Park, to Jon and Sharon Newcomb. She was a 2003 graduate of Blue Valley Northwest and a 2007 graduate of the University of Kansas.
Emily was astute and sharp, working as an analyst, and displaying a knack for solving problems. Above all, Emily loved life and its simple pleasures, and cherished spending time and making memories with family, including her nephews and nieces. Her greatest joy was laughing with family and friends.
She is survived by her parents, Jon and Sharon; her brothers, Scott Newcomb and Brent Newcomb; her sisters-in-law, Maria Newcomb and Erin Newcomb; her grandmothers, Marjorie Beckman and Jean Newcomb; and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Emily touched are invited to the Wesley Covenant Chapel at the Church of the Resurrection, 13720 Roe Ave, Leawood, at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 26, to reminisce and celebrate Emily’s life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Emily’s name to KiDSCOR Children’s Ministry at the Church of the Resurrection, 13720 Roe Ave, Leawood, KS 66224.
This came to a great shock and broke my heart. Her sweet personality and bright smile always made my day. We were candy junkies together and had a great deal of fun sharing our findings with each other. We were like 2 kids in a candy store! I will miss her fun stories and never be able to look at some items without always thinking of her. So many inside jokes that just make me randomly smile and will always keep Emily close! Please know her kind heart and fun personality will be the biggest part of what I will carry with me about Emily. Find peace in knowing she was an amazing person and friend! I hope in the days near that her smile and laugh will bring back your families smiles when you think of her and not this hurt. God Bless and with my deepest heart know you are in my prayers. Her dear friend, Denise
Prayers to all the Newcomb family. I worked with Emily at PCG and we always had a good time. I really enjoyed joking with her as she had a great smile and sense of humor. She is definitely missed. May God bless you all today and the days ahead.
