Very sorry to hear of your family's loss. Bill was Extension specialist at Texas Agricultural Extension Service when I started work as entomologist here in Dallas in 1989. I appreciated his guidance as a new specialist. The pesticide applicator training conferences he started in the early 1990s are still going strong today.

So sorry to hear of Dr. Knoop's passing. We worked together while I was a county horticulturist in both Tarrant and Jefferson County in the 1980s and '90s. Dr. Knoop was instrumental in the creation of the "Don't Bag It" Lawn Care Plan that expanded statewide, nationwide and even internationally. He was an inspiration to me and so many others. Rest in peace Bill!

Saddened to hear of Bill’s passing. He was a friend and I enjoyed working with him and having him on programs in Navarro county. He was also helpful on golf course and athletic field visits. I considered him my go to source for information on those calls. My prayers for peace and comfort are with you. Mike

Remembering Bill as a colleague and mentor on turfgrass research at A&M. He was a fine colleague and such a game changer for the whole turfgrass program. His programs on “don’t bag it” was a conversion of systems of lawn mowing and best ways to solve the problems with tons of yard waste to the city landfills. By far the biggest impact of urban turfgrass programs we developed during our tenure in research and extension.
