Phillip Roy "Phil" Davis, Age: 76

Phillip Roy Davis (Phil), 76, of Platte City, Missouri, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2020, in Platte City, Missouri.  Private service will be held at a future date.

 Phil was born in West Plains, Missouri, to Roy Fredrick Davis and Thelma Ruth Davis (Smith), on October 15, 1943. He attended Willow Springs High School and graduated from Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri (formerly Southwest Missouri State University). He worked for the Department of the Army as an editor for approximately 30 years.  He was a veteran of the Gulf War and served in both the U.S. Navy and Missouri Air National Guard. In years past, he enjoyed running and playing tennis, collecting coins, and traveling.  He was an avid Neil Diamond and Eagles fan, and attended countless concerts in his lifetime.

 Phil is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughters, Melissa Davis de Roa (Christian) and Katharine (Kathy) Helmer (Ron), as well as nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, all of the greater Kansas City area.

 The family of Phil Davis wishes to extend our sincere thanks to St. Luke’s Hospice, Dr. Stammler (Platte Co VA Clinic), Jill (nurse - St. Luke’s Home Health), PT and OT department (St. Luke’s Home Health), NKC Hospital staff, Leavenworth VA Hospital, Focus Home Health -  Liberty, Right at Home, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Ott, and Rev. Dr. Yummy Pandolfi.
