Miriam Ruth (Moore) Turnbull, 89, went to meet Jesus on Sunday, November 8, 2020. Miriam, the 4th of 7 children, was born in Des Moines, on Nov. 11, 1930, to Tolbert Clyde Moore & Gladys Caroline (Parsons) Moore. Miriam spent many of her childhood years with her grandparents, Charles and Elizabeth (King) Parsons. Miriam married Paul Horne Turnbull on December 26, 1952, in Des Moines and received her B.A. in Music at Sterling College the following May. They had 5 children. She taught a total of 28 years in 5th grade, kindergarten and in the school library & received her MLS at Emporia State Teacher’s College. Miriam served: on the Bushton Public Library Board, the church memorials committee, the United Methodist Women’s Circle and as the community representative for local community concerts. She sang in the church choir, Sweet Adelines & the Wexford kitchen band. Miriam loved hymns, children’s books, community concerts, weather, reading, & Paul’s backrubs. She is survived by three younger siblings, Ellie Hawkins, Gordon Moore, and Ken Moore; 4 children: Carol June Turnbull of Eskridge, KS; Keith John Turnbull (Peggy) of Richfield, MN; Linda Sue Becker (Joe) of Parkville, MO; Cynthia Diane Craig (Terry) of Lincoln, MO; son-in-law, Richard Mehringer; 9 grandchildren: Andrea Mehringer, Miriam & (Paul) William Turnbull, Nicole Tixier & Lydia Jensen; Dallas Craig, Jonathan Craig, Christine Meldrum & Matthew Craig; as well as 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded by her husband, Paul Turnbull, her daughter, Katherine Jean Mehringer: her parents, Tolbert and Gladys Moore; her siblings, Stanley, David Moore; & Lois Wortman. She was loved & will be greatly missed. The memorial service will be determined at a later date.
