Helen Elizabeth Burns (nee Smith) passed away peacefully on Monday November 9, 2020 at the age of 91.
Born in St. Louis, MO on February 26, 1929 to Anna V and Carl C Smith, She was the oldest of 4 siblings who preceded her in death: Leroy (Bud) Smith of Napoleon, MO, Eugene Smith of Avon Park, FL and Doris Young of Independence, MO.
She leaves behind her 3 children Paul David Chapman of Independence, MO, Bruce D Chapman of Independence, MO and Tina Y Harrison of Lawson,MO, 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving friends who will miss her dearly.
Her ashes will be interred at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Kansas City, MO at a later date to be announced by the family.
We as a family would wish to thank all the healthcare workers who took such good care of our mother allowing us to be able to have her with us for such a long time. We have been truly blessed and she is now resting in the loving arms of her family.
