Harry Lester Payne III, 69 years old of Lee’s Summit, Missouri passed away on January 6, 2021.

Harry was born on January 31, 1951 in Bethesda, Maryland. The majority of his life was spent in Missouri within the greater Kansas City area. He graduated from Ruskin School in 1969, and went on to study at Lincoln University. His career in plastic manufacturing at Frontier Bag lasted for 42 years. He was an avid music enthusiast, enjoyed playing guitar and cooking up a storm in the kitchen. He spent many hours in the great outdoors, fishing or hunting, but most of all he loved spending time with friends and family.

Harry is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kimberly; his daughter, Nichole (son-in-law Tom of California); his son, Matthew of Kansas City, and Joshua (future daughter-in-law Erin of California).

Harry was a kind man, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant a lot to him. He was proud of Nichole, Matt, and Josh. He always tried his best to support them throughout his life. He will be greatly missed.

A memorial service to be determined at a later time when we are in safer times due to the COVID-19 crisis.

I am so sorry to find that Harry has passed away. We were friends our freshman year at Lincoln University. I transferred after that year and didn’t keep in touch. I was looking at the LU yearbook and found Harry so decided to google him. So sad to see he had passed. We were both active at the Newman Center. He was always fun and liked to tease. It was also fun to hear his high school stories and I credit all I know about “triple jump” to him! Ha ha! I now live in a suburb of Cincinnati, OH although I listed Jefferson City (my hometown) I am sorry for your loss. Laura Forck Morehead
