Donald H. Miller

March 29, 1934- February 16, 2021

Donald H. Miller went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at his home. Funeral services will be 10 am, Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Church of the Resurrection, Wesley Covenant Chapel.

Don was born on March 29,1934 at his grandmother’s home in Independence, Missouri to Dorcas and Harvey Miller. He graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1952 and then attended Finley Engineering College. While in the Naval Reserves, he was called to active duty and was stationed at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station in Oak Harbor, Washington.  From an early age, Don had a love for any machine that moved fast: cars, boats, planes and motorcycles.

This paved his way to a successful automotive career working at the Chevrolet Zone Office and then owned dealerships in Emporia, Houston and Dallas. In Kansas City he continued his career with a successful limousine company and other automotive endeavors.  Don had unlimited interests which included spending winters in Florida, driving around in his souped-up golf cart, flying, cooking, reading, baking cinnamon rolls, smoking brisket, tinkering around in the garage and spending time with loved ones.

He married his wife, Patsy in 1984 in Dallas, Texas and then moved to Lee’s Summit, Missouri in 1986.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Miller, his daughter, Dawn Wood, and four step daughters, Dena Wicker, Lesa House, Sheila Jones (Bruce)  and Tricia Pikey.  Don is also survived by his seven grandchildren Brandon Wood, Tyler House, Dylan House, Ava Jones, Claire Jones, Morgan Pikey and Ryan Pikey, and his sister, Shirley Dillard and husband, Dwight Dillard who reside in Venice, Florida.
