Barbara and Joe, I am so sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed the time I spent chatting with Mike. It was great fun for my boys watching him spin and toss the crust when we came for pizza. I do and will always miss the late night chats at Country Kitchen , The Faded Onion, and of course Corso’s. To me he was one of those friends that time and distance always evaporated away when he smiled and greeted me. I always felt privileged in his company. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Much love, Mike Camp

Barb and Joe, I am so sorry to hear Mike has passed away. He was one of the Good Guys from Valley Junction. He was one of the best cooks in town. He really enjoyed being the maker and baker of those pizzas, and welcoming the people that came in on that side of the restaurant. I have many fond memories of Mike and both of you. God Bless.

Barbara, I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. You and Mike, and later, Joe, hosted Za Ga Zig’s Young Shriners Club for many years. Mike always started us out with a kind word and often a comp’d pitcher. We got to know him better from working with him at the Consistory’s kitchen. Mike mentored our club’s aspiring cooks, and inspired us to put on many parties & banquets; by sharing his professional expertise he had a real impact on a number of Masonic bodies in Iowa... We’ll miss him! Dutch Koch

Barbara, I am so sorry to lean of your loss. We knew Mike from THE best pizza place in Des Moines. I was thrilled to run into you a few years ago and learn of your marriage to Mike. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I knew Mike in kindergarten at Clover Hills Elementary, West Des Moines, IA. He was a fun boy. Kindergarten was half days then and Mike usually slept through our morning class. We, the kids, learned that it was probably because his parents worked so late and he stayed up till Corso's was closed. Many fond memories of buying pizza after football games, sock hops and for family time. It was a delight to see him in charge after Joe & Hazel "retired". My husband, Bob, and I would take our children there to order pizza for take out. We'd stand and watch him work his magic. The kids' eyes would light up. He always had time for a reminiscent chat. My sympathy to you Barbara and to you Joe. He will be missed!

Don't know what to say about Mike. Have known him since I was in 3rd grade. He was as much a fixture at Corso's Pizza as Joe and Hazel. Good guy. Prayers to Barb!
