Janice Louise Haug, 79 of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away May 15, 2021.
Janice was born on February 25, 1942, the first child of Dale and Frances Haug. She grew up in the Kansas City and Independence areas. On December 11, 1999, she married the love of her life Michael Hellstrom, in Kansas City, Missouri.
Janice began her career with the Order of the Sisters of St. Francis from 1959-65. After leaving the order she was an educator for many years in the Pleasanton, Kansas City and Ft Osage school districts. She then went on to work at Sprint as a relay operator for the deaf to assist them in communicating with others before retiring. Janice enjoyed helping people and was always willing to give something to others who were in need.
Before and during retirement she enjoyed spending time at the Lake of Ozarks, and with family and friends. She always looked forward to family getting together for the holidays or a special birthday. Janice enjoyed visiting with nieces and nephews at these gatherings so she could catch up on their lives.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Frances Haug. She is survived by her husband, Michael of the home. She is also survived by her siblings, David (Barbara) Haug, Patti Ledford, Bob (Cindy) Haug and Mary (David) Byland, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Janice was a very loving wife, sister and aunt. We will miss her.
Janice requested no services be held and cremation.
