Charles “Charlie” Perkins passed away peacefully at his home on May 31, 2021 at the age of 88. Charlie was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Beverly Perkins, his daughter Shirley Reeves and his mother Mabel Williams and sister-in-law Barbara Perkins and nephew Bradley Perkins.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 16th at 10:00 am followed by Funeral Mass at 11:00 at Cure Of Ars Church at 9405 Mission Road Leawood, Kansas 66206. Private family burial at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
Charlie was devoted to his family and thought he was blessed to have them. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Joyce and David Joyce, Son-in-law Michael Reeves, Five grandchildren, Natalie Reeves Salsgiver and husband Bryan, Courtney Reeves Goddard and husband Joshua and Brooke Reeves, Carl Joyce and wife Blair and Alex Joyce. Also, six great grandchildren with one on the way and a brother Edward Perkins and wife Lynda of Butler, MO. He also leaves behind his special companion Kate McCabe.
Charlie spent most of his time in the KC area. He attended Redemptorist High School in Kansas City, and served in The Navy from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean War.
His business was in Mortgage Banking and Real Estate Financing, including his own company, Perkins and Associates. He loved golf and played with high school friends for years.
In lieu of flowers, donations made in his name to Cure of Ars Church or Kansas City Hospice.
